Hey! I’m loving this podcast. Great info! The quote that stuck out for me is “communication doesn’t give you permission to market” - that is SO TRUE and it’s a great reminder to marketers.

Thanks for this! I’m going to listen again when there’s not so much noise in my house :)

    Hi Alejandro,

The best quote from yesterday’s ShineIn09 call was by @Ron_Hudson:

“The reason that we spend time around the people that we do, is because of the way we feel when we are around them.”

    Best Wishes,

    Shinil.

I left this as a tweet for you, but I liked the comment about affiliate marketers trying to “capture information and not trying to capture your heart”. That seems to be a nice way to summarize how to properly use social media for marketing purposes.

“Authenticity is a state of being, your intent in communicating is key in the future of social media” ~Ron Hudson

Ron’s quote stood out to me as the most powerful quote from #shinein09 call 2. Influence and persuasion foundations come from authenticity. IN the past I observed some getting it wrong saying how influence, persuasion stemming from manipulation in an unauthentic sense.

To me, it’s about connecting with my audience on a deeper level from heart to heart. Sure, in part manipulation plays a part, yet do we not manipulate people in a positive sense in our every day lives? Say I have a solution for someone to stop smoking, of course I would not force it upon them, though I would use influence and persuasion with ethical intent to serve as the solution, and save a part of their life.

See, if people know they need a solution to their problem, chances are they may hesitate to go after a solution since a subconscious barrier may exist within them. Social media and marketing serve as authentic influence and persuasion to help those who need our solutions to break down their own barriers and change their life.

BE real, be authentic, I’ll do me, you do you. :)

Thank you for getting me fired up today Alejandro, I appreciate ya brotha. Be well.

    Sincerely,

    Matt

During the call I actually wrote down a *LOT* of excellent quotes but if I share them all with you I may be disqualified from your contest because the rules were definitely, “leave your *BEST* quote” so I will honor the rules, Alejandro! (Don’t wanna tweak the moderator! ;)

I’m going to share this one with you because when I heard Angel say it I got these shivers inside (you know those … the ones you get when you hear something which you were just *meant* to hear at that moment in your life and it has the deep truth for you?)

“The main problem is us getting over ourselves and just letting the work come out and being willing to evolve … Your viewers are out there and they need the info that you have to offer so get started and then don’t give up.”

I am absolutely in LOVE with video. When somebody says, “What would you do if nobody paid you to do it?” for me it would be talking on camera and sharing things that I’m discovering which I feel will help other people with their own journey. I feel just called to it, drawn to it. So I have no idea where it’s going but I know deep down inside that I’m meant to be doing it.

When Angel said that … what I felt inside was this little encouraging nudge. This little ring of truth like, “Yes, see? Do it. It’s ok, you can do it. You should do it. Keep doing it and it will fall into place.”

And for me, that is a blessing and a little mini-miracle, moments like that.

So I thank you Alejandro and I thank you Angel and I also thank Ron and Maria for the quotes which I wrote down that *YOU* said which I am not quoting for the sole reason that I am playing by the rules! ;)

A couple of times when people met me in person after having seen my videos they said to me, “I feel like I’m meeting a rock star!” :) so the name “Social Marketing Rockstars Coaching Program” really hits me and makes me smile. The whole call hit me, as you can see. I also appreciate, Alejandro, the things you say about authenticity. I’m grateful to encounter people who inspire me.

    Warmly,
    Col
