Influencing Social Networking Sites

Alright check it. I’m about to give you the HOTTEST interview that I’ve ever given out so far. Michelle Macphearson who is one of the top if not THE top Social Marketing experts on the planets. I’ve been following Michelle for some time now but we’ve built a really great friendship in the last month or so because of social networking sites.

Check this out, she asked me a few days ago to do an interview on what I’ve been doing and how I’ve used social media and networking sites to connect with influencer’s, gain tons of traffic to my sites, build strong relationships with top entrepreneurs & make money online.

So I figured there would be anywhere from 30-40 people on this call but I was completely wrong. I started to advertise it on Twitter and because of my connections and relationships, my friends started talking about it and it started to grow virally. Before I know it, over 400 people were registered on the call and over 200 people stayed on the hour long call that we did. I’ve been on a lot of conference calls and for a 20 hour notice, those numbers are unheard off.

Here’s the recording to show you how I dominate the social networking sites using simple yet highly effect strategies!!! This audio runs 81 minutes.

I’d be very interested to what you liked best about the interview and any questions you still might have? Also make sure to follow Michelle @michellem on Twitter. Leave YOUR Twitter ID here as well so we can all connect!

Great interview. I liked that you covered attitude and perspective (laws of reciprocity, know your motivation–the money can’t be all, being social). If you have perspective, you don’t have to be spoon-fed every single action, you have an idea of how you want to go and you use the tools, like the cool ones you showed during the call.

I also liked the way you and Michelle gave very specific examples (breaking in a conversation, etc.). My hours was WELL spent. Thank you both!!

Great call! Twitter is great. I love chatting with people on there and agree that it is good to not only be about business…but be personal also. It helps you to get to know the person (or people getting to know you) and know that they are “real.”

Just goes to show how some people on Twitter can be twits instead of tweeters! Too many people aren’t getting social media yet, many of which are the “pros” you referred to as “crows”.

Twitter is a very interesting media that forces people to understand social media with its 140 limited characters. The way I use Twitter and other social media is for research. Researching people and their habits is very fascinating indeed, and will help any business determine what their customer’s needs are. But it takes laser focus.

The two most popular followed topics on the Internet are news and humor. If you learn how to tweet with either them on Twitter, you can become a twitmeister who develops a lot of followers.

Great call, and hats off to you.

Ah, social networking at work! I’m following @shamahyder who tweeted about a “cool new twitterer on the block” (you) - so I checked you out and followed you and you auto-responded with a thank you (very cool) and I checked out your site, listened to the interview with Michelle, got a lot of great info and insight out of it, began following her on Twitter and on and on and on… phew.

The power of this stuff and the opportunity for connection, engagement and enrichment on so many levels is amazing… and breathtaking! I’ll be tuning in to you regularly. Keep up the good work.

  32. Hello Alejandro. I just finished re-listening to the recording of the webinar with Michelle. I was on the live call, too, but unfocused, coz I was getting ready that night to also attend a live celebration in my little town of Fairfield Iowa, in honor of Chicken Soup for the Soul Series’ authors Mark Victor Hansen and Jack Canfield, who received a Maharishi Award for their great work in the world–see some pictures I took at that event at canfieldhansenmaharishiaward.drclauderecommends.com (it turns out that almost a dozen of the series’ co-authors once were or still are part of the Transcendental Meditation community established here near the Maharishi University of Management in Fairfield–you’ll see pictures of other famous authors such as Marci Shimoff, Author of “Happy for No Reason,” also featured in the book/DVD The Secret, or Janet Attwood, author of “The Passion Test”). By the way, I recommend Fairfield to you as a great place to network.

Back to the webinar. I both loved and “hated” your interview with Michelle. Relax though, I am not going to say anything bad about you–on the contrary. I am certainly very impressed with all you shared about (and thanks for the great tips and tools you shared), and I will continue to follow you mostly because Michelle brought you on (I am definitely one of her fans), and now also because I know you a little more and like you so far.
The “hating” part comes from a feeling that, even though I know deep within that the connecting and socializing you are doing is vitally important, I am just not excited about doing that part, it doesn’t come naturally, it’s awkward for me (I’d rather be on my own). Although I can be at ease in front of large groups of people when I am doing what I am good at–which is facilitating my audience members’ process of creating permanent unconditional freedom from unwanted conditions in their life–I find it difficult to get the people into the room or teleworkshop in the first place–i.e. marketing myself and what I do is the big challenge. Although I am starting to establish a presence online though my comments on various blogs and online radio interviews (as you can see if you google keywords: unconditional freedom process), I know I am still missing something, and I have a feeling that I can learn something from what you are doing, but as I said, I don’t really like it so much, I feel some disconnect, like an alien sometimes. Maybe because what I stand for is still ahead of its time, even though inner peace and freedom from negative emotions seem so very much needed in a crazy world of information overload. Do you have some advice for someone like me?
(I was wondering also if by chance you ever took any seminars with a company called Landmark Education, because some of the language you are using–such as ‘being in the conversation’–reminded me of the courses I used to take with them from 1999-2005–some of which with the purpose of getting more related with people, of creating team, etc.)

I recently joined Twitter (@drclaude) on Michelle MacPhearson’s inspiration and recommendation, but have not gotten the hang of it yet (only posted 2 tweets so far), probably for the same reasons I mentioned above, although I keep telling myself I have no time (I am working fulltime for a Vedic Astrology Software company, and otherwise I am trying to implement all the Web2.0, SEO, etc. strategies by myself). I hope that getting to know you and Michelle more will drag me into this world of social networking and marketing that I have been shying away from (like many others I am sure). Thanks for being the leader that you are.
